Known for his Impressionist landscapes and modern city scenes, Edgar Otis Miner has painted all over New England, Scotland, England, Holland and Jamaica.

Miner was born in New London, Connecticut in 1915 and attended the Guy Wiggins Art School, Essex, Connecticut from 1935 to 1940, as well as the National Academy in New York City from 1938 to 1940. He served in the U.S. Army from 1940 to 1945, and spent three years in the Pacific.

He first exhibited at the Lyme Art Association in 1947 and became a member of the organization in 1949. Over the years he served on all committees and served as treasurer from 1953 to 1970.

Edgar Otis Miner died in January of 2003.
