Biography

George Albert Thompson was an art teacher at the Yale School of Fine Arts. He was also a student of John LaFarge and studied in Paris. Thompson was founder and first president of the Mystic Art Association and exhibited at the National Academy, the Pennsylvania Academy and the Corcoran Gallery biennials. In 1898 he returned to the United States and received a B.F.A. from Yale School of Fine Arts, which he attended for six years. He spent five years in Paris and one summer in Giverny, France.
